want to print an ellipsis (...) in WORD text, but a blockof dots prints out instead; can someone provide the fix, please?

Try updating your printer driver.

Do you get this problem when printing an ellipsis from Notepad?

Mike-Many thanks-I will try to update printer driver. So far I have just printed in WORD, not in notepad. Any other thoughts re possible fixes?

to Mike- tried the HP site and found that I have the most recent printer driver for my printer. Other thoughts, please?

I'd rather wait to see if you can spend 15 seconds testing it in Notepad
before proceeding with any other suggestions,.
 
What do you mean by "a block of dots"? I assume you're not referring to the
ellipsis character (ASCII 0133, Unicode 2026), which is automatically
substituted for three periods by AutoFormat As You Type.

Is the document in Courier font? Perhaps Courier will not print
ellipses characters, just as it can't print smart quotes or M dashes.
