If anyone is having problems with this spyware
regenerating after being cleaned, try this. Start your
computer in safe mode. Turn off the system recovery by
right clicking on My Computer and finding the tab that
contains that option (the tab is called "System Restore"
for XP versions, not sure about other versions).
Run an up to date version of Microsoft's Antispyware Beta
3 times. It took two scans to clean the spyware; the
third run just verified that Elitebar was indeed gone.
After the first run, the program found a few files and
several registry entries asociated with Elitebar. The
problems were quarantined and then removed. After the
second run it found several files (20 or so) and only 2
registry entries. Again, I quarantined the problems and
then removed them. After the third run there was no sign
of Elitebar.
I hope this helps someone.
