I had some data encrypted on my personal computer, which is part of a
domain. The Active Directory went to hell and didn't come back. I ended up
reinstalling, as I didn't bother keeping backups since it was just my home
practice network. Now I've got a bunch of encrypted data that I need
decrypted, but I'm not sure how to do it. I've been trying for a while but
can't get it to decrypt. I'm worried that since I essentially lost the DC of
the old domain and am now set up in a new domain (same name, but obviously
different SIDs) the EFS Recovery Agent for the new domain won't decrypt data
encrypted on the old domain. So if anyone can give me some answers and if
it's possible to decrypt the data anyhow I'd really appreciate it if you
could tell me. Thanks.

Thank you for the links, but I couldn't get it to work. The one that seems
most relevant to me is "Unable to Recover Encrypted Files After the Domain
Controller Is Demoted" but the first step of the process is to "Decrypt all
documents on the local computer" which I cannot do, at least I don't know
how to decrypt them, as that is what I'm struggling with. if you could help
me out some more I'd really appreciate it.
