EFS File Recovery

I encrypted two files the same type(Wordpad), at the same
time.

I then, using my administrator account, backed up the
encrypted files to another computer and restored them.

After importing my administrator certificate with the
private key for EFS recover I could recover the second
file I encrypted but not the first.

Any reason for this strange occurence?

Possibly file corruption, run Check Disk on the computer. Try the cipher utility [use
cipher /? for help] and use efsinfo to view who is supposed to be able to decrypt
that file. Also check ntfs permissions for the files that the two match for your user
account. You need adequate ntfs permissions. --- Steve
