At work we are primary still a Novell shop for file and
print sharing. We are running windows 2000 professional on
the desk top. Currently I have over 600 hosts at seventy
remote locations. I don't want my end users to down load
the patch themselves which would tied up their 64k wan
circuit. I been looking at the Microsoft Software Update
Services option but I belive it will not work due to us
being an Novell shop. Is anyone else having the same
issue. Thanks in advance.

SUS only requires a Windows server to run SUS. It doesn't care that the
rest of the network runs Novell. The client is configured to go directly to
SUS for the catalog, and optionally for the updates (they can get these from
MS, if you choose).
