I have recorded some videos to a high quality DVD capture file that is of MPEG-2 format. When I try to import these into the collections of MM, I get an error message of failed to import, an object has to many interfaces to fire from. Any ideas what that may mean and what I can try to do to import these into MM.
I'm using a TV capture card on my PC to record and other files of lower quality can be imported fine. Thanks

MM2 doesn't work well (if at all) with MPEG-2 files. You need to convert
them to AVI files before importing.

I use TMPGEnc to do conversions from MPEG-2 to AVI.

Hello there,

What you describe is typical. Movie Maker, although its included in the
file dialog box as an option, can not deal with all of the varieties of MPeg
file that are "out there"

If you do not have an original source file in the DV-AVI format your
solution would be to convert the MPeg file into DV-AVI.

If you do not have a converter then go to the GREAT LINKS > KNOWLEDGE
BASE > VIDEO HELP section of my website and you will find more notes and
converters than you can throw a stick at.

Hope this helps a little...
