Speaking of Ubuntu, I did reformat my HD (using PartionMagic (Linux
formatted)) slid in my Linux disk and that wonderful *free* OS wouldn't even
think of installing! Absolutely no video what so ever, and my machine froze
to a completely useless state. (Glad I had an image of my C drive !)

Linux and Ubuntu is made by geeks for geeks. If you don't want to be
productive, Linux/Ubuntu is the way to go.
