It's great...... if you like spyware (it was full with it last time I tried
it)

Shareaza does edonkey/emule, Bittorrent, Gnutella 1 and Gnutella 2.

It doesn't have spyware, so it's safer than Kazza or edonkey2000, but it's
still not 100% safe, but neither is crossing the road.

I couldn't get Shareaza to work (could never find results for any search
term I entered, regardless of what they were)

Read the part about opening up a port in your router for Shareaza
communications. (I assume you are using one) Other than that, no clue.
 
I don't use a router ;o) and I tried configuring the firewall manually......
and disabling it completely.
