editing vectorized graphics

What freeware software is available for editing vectorized graphics, .wmf
and .emf files?

For example, I would like to crop or possibly perform other simple edits
on such a file without having to turn it into a raster graphics file in
order to maintain the quality.

OpenOffice.org has an app for this: OpenOffice-Draw

This would be my recommendation.


I believe Eve cannot open a wmf or emf file. It can, however, export
to those formats.

Is there any place to get just the Draw application? At the above site you
have to download the entire package which is 63.5 MB!

Yes, I can see how that would be a problem on dial-up. :)

I do not know of a separate download for Draw. You can *install* just
draw, but you need the download to do that. Sorry I can't be more
help.
