Editing slide blinks so much PP2002 almost locks up

I'm editing some slides in a presentation sent to me by another person. When
using the Normal view, if I clcik on a slide with a table or a piece of clip
art, on some (but not all) of the slides it blinks so much I can't even edit
it. PowerPoint is for all pratical purposes locked up. I looked in all the
help I could find, Googled, etc but I couldn't find anything addressing this
issue. I would greatly appreciate any help.

You should try turning back graphics hardware acelleration

OK, that did it, I had to turn off Direct Draw.
