IS there a program or a way to edit a scanned document?
I want to edit the text on the document thatI scanned.

Omnipage and FineReader are all OK. Usually a basic version is bundled with
a scanner. So you may be able to find one around in your office.

A scanned document is essentially a graphic image. It's a picture
of the words, rather than the words themselves, and therefore the
text is not editable.

However, there is software that can take those pictures of words,
recognize what words they are, and translate them in the words
themselves. Such software is called Optical Character Recognition
software, usually abbreviated "OCR." There are several such
programs for sale; I use and like one called OmniPage Pro, but
there are other good ones too.

Once you've run the document through the OCR software, you have
text. You can then edit that text in your favorite word
processor.
