Recently upgraded to XP, clean install. Trouble with
scanner program. Contacted vendor, download and install
new software. Didn't work. Vendor says that I have to
remove all mention of sftware from registry.

I can get into the Registry edit routine, but have no idea
what the operative commands are to find, edit and save?

Is there a souce for help?

Hey Nick,

Within regedit, CTRL-F will let you search, F3 will search
for the next instance of whatever you searched for with
CTRL-F. To edit a key, double click on it in the right
window pane, to delete a folder or key right click on it.
The registry is a database, so there is no save command;
saving is automatic. Also, MAKE A BACKUP if you are not
familiar with editting your registry :).. If you just
recently installed this application that you want all
traces removed, consider using the system restore wizard
(search for it in Windows help). You can restore to a
previous state without the dangers you encounter by going
into the registry yourself.
