Editing Raw AVI files

I use to be able to edit AVI files: Remove time and date stamps, enhance
color or background on frames, etc. I did this by using Micrographs (old
program) Picture Publisher. But with the new compression codes, it will no
longer read the AVI file.

What options do I have?

Your message doesn't make much sense. What do you mean by "raw" AVI files?
How are you obtaining this file?

As for MicrographX Picture Publisher it seems no longer available... but its
references suggest it was a picture editor not a video editor.

Rehan,
What I mean by raw AVI file is I would like to edit the avi file its self,
not simply splice it. You where correct in that MicrographX Picture
Publisher was a picture editor, but it did edit avi flles a frame at a time.
I could frame by frame take out the time date stamp, or correct some other
video feature frame by frame.

I am looking for a program that will allow me to edit the video part of a
avi file frame by frame, or batch changes to multiple frames.

I am open for suggestions.

Thanks for the time and the reply!

There is freeware utility that can do this

LSMaker
http://lsmaker.uw.hu/page.php

It is designed to do something specific i.e. do Light Sabers but it can be
sed to do more things than that.

If you are can then you would love AviSynth and VirtualDub both of which can
work together to do a lot of high end video editing.

Rehan,
Thank you for the time! I will try these programs out. It seems like they
might be what I have been looking for.
