This may be obvious to some but I can't seem to find the answer...I am to
start maintaining a web site created by someone else. Do I first import the
site to my computer and then update the copy on the server or is there some
other process? Thank you.

If the web site is hosted on a server with FrontPage extensions, open the site on the server
in FrontPage and then "Publish" it in it's entirety back to a location on your machine.

Import will not work, because it doesn't transfer or create all of the required files.

Hi Curt,

I would recommend that you do editing from your PC then publish to the live, on the web, site. To get the web down to your PC open
the web at the server by using the URL then File | Publish to your PC.

It may be that more than one person is involved in the editing. Can editing
be done "live" on the server for occasional updates but then one copy that's
synchronized to keep it updated on a single machine else where? I'll be
traveling a lot and I don't think keeping it on my laptop would be the most
efficient thing. Thanks!

Yes you can do it that way.

Just make sure you maintain a regualr back up by publishing back to your computer.
