Editing message itself

I just moved from office 2003 to office 2007. In 2003, I was able to open a
message in my inbox and edit it. I found it useful to amend comments to the
message or delete very large files that I would save eslewhere. When I open
a message I can no longer do it. I used to be able to click edit and then
edit the message but no longer. Any solution?

Open message, then Options, Edit message.

In 2007, its on the Other actions button.
