after completing a draft i decided to insert more clips. This then re
position changed the position of titles/comments on other clips so i had
manually adjust all or remove the inserted clips., is there not some way to
anchor title comments on a clip so if you add transitions or insert more
clips existing editing is preserved.

Unfortunately there is no way to lock titles to clips, although it is
something I hope Microsoft does in a future WMM release, so it is best to
wait until you have all your clips arranged the way you want before adding
titles and transitions.

thanks, I found out the hard way, however i think it can be done by saving as
a movie and then import as a collection then the titlers are locked to a
movie.

Yes it can be done that way and then you can split it to add any clips you
want between the others but that will screw up any background audio you may
have.

Bugga! by the way I don't have any music/audio to add as background, do u
know of some sites that have free stuff without joining up?

Sorry, did not pay attention. Now attended and "Brilliant". by the way
visited your website "Brilliant" thanks for the inspiration. I have another
query re audit but i'll make a separate listing for benefit of all.

Thank you for that, I don't know about "brilliant" but I'll take the
inspiration part. :)

i guess the "brilliant" is driven from the satisfaction/relief u offer new
timers. I tried movie maker 6 mths ago and stopped. last week a friend showed
me the basics and the bug has bitten (up till late playing with options) then
the next stage of frustration - trying to burn, then make make label covers -
everything easy once u know how but for us virgins you guys providing this
help boars is "brilliant".

Thanks.
Yes I can tell you from my own experience as well as from helping others
that once you learn how to go from digital camera/camcorder to WMM or PS3 to
DVD Software and to DVD you will be hooked for life and will likely spend
many a late night creating and editing movies. Personally I spend as much
time creating my DVD's to look as professional as possible as I do creating
the actual movie.

agreed. I'm hooked. I also have been spending as much if not more time
editing and creating (it's very interesting and some of us just keep setting
higher standards for ourselves).

ok now i just gotta learn some guff on the diff between avi/mpg/ps3 and
other jargon .. i did see this all listed on a site .. just gotta find it
when i havea few minutes, thanks again n have a great day!

On the aspect of importing a collection, is there any way of joining two
collections of the same movie?
I was recording a movie (our trip to England years ago) from my analog type
camcorder into MM2 when it locked up (after about an hour of a 2 1/2 hour
movie). so I started again from where it left off which created another
collection.
I can't find any way to join them. Is it possible?

in one of the two collections, do Control-A to select all the clips in it,
then Control-C to copy them to the clipboard.

then switch to the other collection an do Control-V to paste them into
it.... if all is well delete the first one because you have them all
together.

Or drag them from one collection to the other.
You can still use CTRL+A to select them all and then simply drag them to the
other collection.
