Hi, I want to increase my client's desktop performance by disabling all the
visual effect's from XP. I found the right reg key which is
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects]
"VisualFXSetting"=dword:00000002
Where value 2 is for best performance. This modification works if you run an
exported .reg file to merge the key, and you can see the new setting under
system\advanced\performance\visual effects. But there is no change in the
desktop even after restart. I want to implement this into my GPO but when I
test it locally with the .reg merge nothing happens. Am I missing something
here, or how do you refresh windows to detect the new setting?
