Editing a wmf in powerpoint

I have wmf (i.e. vector, not bitmapped) drawings that I would like to edit.

I can import such a drawing into Powerpoint using Edit | Paste Special
If I then click on it it converts it into a Microsoft Drawing Object so
that I can edit the individual components. After doing a bit of editing
I would like to crop it. I can do this by overlaying blank rectanges on
the four sides but I was wondering if there is an easier way.

Which version of PPT? If 2002 or 2003, regroup the objects, right-click and
save as picture. Then reinsert that picture and use the cropping tool on the
Picture toolbar.

You might even be able to group the objects and crop, but I don't have PPT
on this system, so I can't check.

Thanks. I was able to use the crop tool in PPT 2000 too.
 
....or even copy, paste special as enhanced metafile...then crop.

Even in the latest version of PowerPoint (2003), the ability to crop Office
Drawing Objects is not

supported.

If the ability to crop drawings, without having to go to the extra work of
converting them to

pictures, is important to you, don't forget to send your feedback to
