I am a student and have to open a power point file on a network. 2 weeks ago
I was able to edit the powerpoint as I wanted, but all of a sudden I can't
edit them. What changed? How can I edit them?

Hard to say w/o more info.

What does "can't edit them" mean exactly?

Does PPT display a message? Does it refuse to open the presentation at all?
Does a big hairy guy with a club appear in a puff of smoke and threaten to bash
you one if you persist? (Don't worry ... that last one's pretty rare)
