Editing a document created in Word 2007 with Word 2003?

Within limitations imposed by the fact that Word 2003 is not forward
compatible to include features introduced in Word 2007, you can edit Word
2007 documents in Word 2003 provided you install the compatibility pack. See

It would be better if documents intended for cross platform work were
created in doc format.
