I seem to have lost the otion to edit with Word in the toolbar - I only see
"Edit with Notepad". Seems simple, but I would be grateful for some help. I'm
missing something obvious?

HI JBH,
Go to your IE properties Click on Programs Tab and in the Box have the Title:
HTML Editor [ Windows Wordpad ] select from the Drop down list and
click Apply, then Ok to confirm your Settings.
Hope this helps

Many thanks for your help Nass - much appreciated, however, there is no drop
down list that I can select from. I only have the option of Notepad! Nothing
else shows.

What about Click on Reset Web settings and see if you get Wordpad as your
HTML editor.
