Certainly do not install 3rd party software for that problem,it'll only

Utter hogwash. I've used Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel for years with no
ill effect whatsoever. While SOME such programs MAY "conflict with xp
software", your unsupported blanket statement is twaddle. Like, it has to be
said, a fair proportion of other advice you offer. (Talking of your other
advice, please do us a favour and learn about (1) use of the comma after a
space, and (2) the difference between "your" and "you're" (and "youre", for
that matter). Gives me an Inspector Dreyfus twitch every time I see one of
your posts!)
Simply go to run, type:services.msc In msc, scroll
to youre software,double click,set to "Manual" start,from auto,close out
msc.
What if it's not an automatic service that's the OP's issue? It could be an
item in the Startup group or registry.
I'd submit that the *first* place to look in cases like this is the
program's own settings. If no joy in its main interface, or perhaps from
right-clicking any system tray icon, then look elsewhere. (It's difficult to
say more given that we don't know the actual name of this "external freecom
backup system".)
