Edit Nearest Places

Why can't you edit places? for example, a local
restaurant named Bill Knapps, recently was renovated to a
Famous Dave's BBQ Shack, I would like to change the name
and the phone number??? Why don't the edits that wrote
the code for MapPoint make it programable? All this is
is a fancy name for Microsoft Streets and Trips in
cognito.

Does MapPoint 2004 still not have edit capibilites?
 
This is a group for Excel questions. I don't think you'll get much of an answer beyond "that's
the way the MS fellows wrote the program".
