I have created a new file under Folder Options>Folder>Advanced. This bring
up a dialog box titled Edit File Type and shows the file I created (Create
File Listing). I am running XP Pro andI would like to remove that file.
The Edit File Type dialog box has a button in it titled Remove, which I
assume you can click to remove the file. Only problem is the Remove button
is grayed out so it can not be clicked. I am running under the
administrator account, so why is the Remove option not available to me?

The option Create File Listing appears when I right click on the START icon
in the lower left part of the screen. When I click it, the program it is
running activates and does its thing. I can view the output, but would like
to remove everything and start over.

What I am trying to do is implement a program described in Preston Gralla's
WINDOWS XP HACKS, p. 72.

If anyone can help thanks a bunch.

Not familiar with that book and can't tell from post which of the folder
items in File Types you have altered. MVP Doug Knox has some "file
assocation" repairs that can be downloaded from his site. These restore
default values to the file types listed on the page. Perhaps the one for
folder will help:
