Edit Adobe format

I have a doc in adobe format. My objective is to:
1. highlight certain fields in yellow
2. add notations in the margain - similar to editing
notations.

If I "Select All" the doc and paste in Word, I lose
formatting.

I was able to successfully copy and paste into Word as a
picture, but am unsuccessful to perform the other tasks.

Any suggestions are most appreciated.
 
Word has no facility to edit Adobe PDF format. You either need Acrobat
(expensive), some form of OCR software that can handle this format eg
Finereader, or a third party utility such as PDF2Word.
