This is usually a problem brought on by either the
WMP "SRS Wow Effects", or your soundcard's environment
settings for something like "cave", or "echo". So, first,
if you are using WMP, go to the Tools|Now Playing section
and uncheck the SRS Wow Effects. If that corrects, the
problem, then good; if not, access your Enviroment Effects
for your soundcard and turn off all effects. In something
like the Creative Soundblaster soundcard, you will find
the effects easily by accessing the mixer.
Another avenue to pursue is the "equalizer settings" for
your mediaplayer. For example, Realplayer's equalizer
will make most streaming audio sound like it is coming
from under the water. (WMP is more acceptable).

when i play a CD in WMP 9 the sound echoes...i am not
sure when it happened but it was ok like a week ago..my
settings were in analog because my CD rom does not support
digital (it skips when its in digital mode)
