Is there any danger in using 20 pin plug from PSU to 24 pin mo-bo's socket?
Like overheating etc.(I have PCIe with NO extra power supply sockets) and I
plan to play modern 3D games.

And your question about Windows XP is????

It must be really tiring, wading through all these posts and asking,
"And your question about XP hardware is ? "

:-)

Some motherboards support this, some don't. Read your motherboard manual.
Even the ones that support it don't recommend it. Power supplies are
relatively cheap for what they do. A good quality, properly matched to the
system power supply can fix many intermittent problems. Conversely a poor or
mismatched power supply can cause many intermittent problems.
