Easy U3 flash drive backup

Does any know how to do a backup of a U3 flash drive? I am looking to
back up the installed applications but I have not found a method that
is affordable (aka free!)
 
If you are talking the firmware inside the flash drive, go to the
manufactures web site, get old and new.
