Easy Transfer

Dose easy transfer remove the files etc. from your old cp or laptop or just
copy them?

Would I be better off just copy files etc from my old machine onto an
external hard drive then copying them onto the new laptop?

Windows Easy Transfer copies your files, settings, etc from old to new
computer, not removes.

You don't say if you are going from XP to vista, or vista to Vista.
Have a look at the search results above for specific info..

You can copy files straight to External HD, a Flash drive, by Networking, or
burning files to CD with Nero, etc.
