Is this the utility from hell?? I have tried for hours using EZ transfer to
get around 15GB of music and pictures from my XP SP2 machine onto a new Vista
Home Premium machine. I don't have the transfer cable, so am using my 100M
network for the connection. I followed all the instructions - it's hard to
stray off course, 'cos there aren't any options. each time I use the utility,
it takes around 6 hrs and puts 2 copies of almost everything onto the
destination machine. All duplicates are shown as "filename (1)" I say almost
everything, because it's not entirely consistent. - Some directories migrate
ok with only 1 copy, although the content is the same type - ie .wma
With My Pictures, I have a number of empty folders whereas the donor machine
still contains the original files. The logfile says everything was a success.
- 1st time I ran it and this happened I deleted all the file content on the
target machine, emptied the recycle bin, and defraged the disk before running
again, only to find it did came back with the same problem..! Help!
