I am trying to backup all my data onto an external hard drive from my laptop
so i can do a clean install of Windows Vista on that laptop. It is a 60gb
external drive, and I was halfway through the easy transfer process when it
said i ran out of space. Do i need to reformat my external drive to be able
to hold all the data before trying again? It is formatted as FAT32 now. Thanks

FAT32 has a maximum file size of 4GB, so if EZXfer plops everything into one
massive file, that certainly could have been the problem. Just use XP's Disk
Management to reformat the external drive to NTFS and you will at least
address that possibility.

Thanks im trying that now
