Every time I try to run Windows Easy Transfer, I get no error messages - it
just sticks at "estimating files and settings size".
I want to transfer my current PC settings to my external hard drive, so I
can transfer them back the next time I have to reload my PC. So I selected my
external SATA II hard drive - and twice the program stuck at "estimating
files and settings size". The second time, I left it running for 6 hours to
see if it would ever move on - but it still hadn't even started the file size
estimation!!!
So I tried selecting transfer to DVD to see if that worked any better - but
it didn't!
And each time I have tried to close the program, clicking "Yes" on the are
you sure dialog box, it refuses to close! I wait about 10 minutes and then
have to resort to ending the program using the Task Manager.
Can anyone help me get to the bottom of this?
I am running the 32-bit version of Vista Home Premium on an Acer Aspire T180
with an Athlon AMD 64 x 2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ 2.10 GHz with 3gb RAM and
a 300GB external SATA II drive with 157GB free.
