Easy text equivalent in Windows XP

Martha Youts

I am currently using Windows 95 with Works 4.5a for my
word processing/transcription business. I depend heavily
on the Easy Text function in the Works Word Processor. I
am needing to upgrade to Windows XP to support new digital
voice software that my business now requires. Does XP
have a function similar to the old Easy Text function? My
husband is running Windows ME and using the Works Word
Processor in that version but we have not been able to
find a similar function in the newer version. If not,
what word processor software does have such a function? I
really need this to stay productive, without it I will be
slowed down tremendously. Thanks in advance for your
help. Martha

New systems, unless on the very low end, usually come with software bundled
along with Windows XP. If your new system didn't come bundled with Works or
Word, or Office, You can buy the new Works Suite for less than $99, which
contains Word in place of the old propropritary Works word processor. Word
has a converter to convert the files from the old Works format to the Word
format. WordPad, a basic word processor, lacking many features, does come
included with Windows XP. But, like I said, it has very few features.
