Some firewalls, like ZA, have a "Stop all internet activity" option.
Is there such a thing as a small/quick/easy program that will do the
same please ? On a '98 system.

Regards, John.

Yes. It's called 'pulling the plug'.
And yes, it is free.
But it ain't software, its more a hardware thing :-)
Pretty secure though, never had any bug found in it.

By default Windows 98 has no open ports. You will have open ports if you are
running a web or ftp server, have turned on file or print sharing or use
remote adminstration tools such as Timbuktu. You may also have open ports if
you have a trojan/virus or spyware.

Find Winipconfig.exe, make a shortcut to it on the desktop or whereever.
Run, select release all. It will not close any ports, but it will stop
all internet activity. To re-connect to the internet run..click renew all.
