I seem to have the lost the ability to scroll through my favorites and have
my frequent favorites show up first. Now, all the favorites justs show up.

Where is this feature to enable/disable located?

Thanks

Hi Mark,

Can you describe what exactly happens?

Kind regards

Sure.

I don't know if I am explaining the problem correctly.

I would open up IE and go to the pull down FAVORITES menu. The favorites
are all there while scrolling (scrolling is enabled in APPEARANCE section of
DISPLAY). But previously, the common ones or frequently/recently accessed
links and folders would display. I seem to lost this ability recently.

Mark,

Let me see if I can describe this for you. I have the
same problem and am here to see what I can do about it as
well. I have lost all of my recent contacts normally
located in the drop down address bar in IE6. I also lost
(some time ago) in a similar manner a lot of my shortcut
listings in my start|programs menu. I also seem to have
lost several programs that I had installed as well. I do
not generally use these items, but I do use them from
time to time and when I went to look for them they were
gone. Yesturday that happened in IE6 with my recent
contacts. How do we stop XP and IE6 from doing this with
our shortcuts and hisories? Is this one of those secret
Windows identity gathering things? Please respond,
thanks, BAT

Look for the option to Enable personalized favorites menu
apply and okay your way out.

That's where it was hiding! Thanks, that did it. But, I had to close and
restart IE.

Thanks Brian.
Maureen's fix worked for me. However, one thing that is still a mystery but
is not related to scrolling is that I am still unable to view all gifs on
web pages. They either appear as image place holders or as an X. Of
course, the first thing I did was to uncheck, check, APPLY and check this
option in TOOLS/ADVANCED. Still nothing. I am not running any firewall.
Nobody so far has a fix for this. One of the many mysteries of IE and XP.

I have the same problem. I used the sequence below but it
only works as IE loads a page. Once the page has fully
loaded I can not scroll thru the favorites on the side. I
have an Optical Wheelmouse USB running Intellipoint 5. I
just recently upgraded to XP Pro. Any other suggestions??
thanx
