Hello AD guru's. I have recently taken over a site based upon Win2k SP4 and
AD. I have worked my way through almost all of the issues they were having
with the exception of one last one. When many of my users log in, there
machines automatically want to setup printers that I can only assume were on
the server and were published to the directory. For instance even on the
server when Administrator logs in, the system tries to add this printer and
it complains about it not existing. To give me a quick work-around I added
a dummy printer on the server with the same name and published it. This
took care of it. I guessed there might be an orphaned printer out there
somewhere, so I added and removed a named printer of the same that is
erroring out. No go. How can I resolve this or simply not have printers
automatically added upon login? We only have a few printers on the LAN so
doing it manually does not pose a problem. Thank you all in advance.
