I don't mean to be rude, but if you can't make heads or tails of Trillian,
steer clear of Miranda. The latter's plethora of plug-ins, which can
simultaneously overlap functionality with other plug-ins (even the default
plug-ins that come with the client), will have your head spinning trying to
set up the options. I didn't find either Trillian or Miranda difficult at
all and both were stable; Miranda is just more involved. But, based on
your Trillian comment, you may not care to delve that deep. And, even if
you do delve that deep, it doesn't get you anymore than Trillian, and
sometimes it gets you less. Consider that the Miranda AOL plug-in uses TOC
vs. OSCAR protocol, which in lay terms means you can't use Miranda [with
its AIM plug-in] for file transfers nor can you use it to see other
people's "away messages" (just two of the shortcomings).
