Using IE6 & WinXP Home. I want to back up some data files (nothing huge) to
a cd-rw in the simplist and easiest manner. Should I use the MSBackUp
utility that came with my XP or this there an easier way. I seem unable to
just drag and drop using my Roxio CD Creator5 program...cannot figure out
how to do this. Anyway all suggestions are welcome. I have limited
computer knowledge and and just want to keep things simple. Thanks in
advance, Fran

Hi, Fran,
I am using Roxio by: Format a CD/RW disk and name a "New Folder" on your
formatted CD. Highlight the files you intend for back-up & click "Edit" on
the Titlebar. Scroll down to: Copy to Folder..... Now find the path to your
CD/RW drive & Foldername. Copying will start right than.
Good luck,
Gerry

Wow some of these replies make it harder than it has to be. I'm not sure why all the fuss over what for me seems to be a simple process. All I do in my XP Home Edition is right click on the file I want to copy to CD and then click "send to" and then my D:\ which is my CD writer. A window pops up saying "files are ready to be written to CD. Simply make sure you have a disk in the drive and then you should be able to double click the little icon in your system tray for "files waiting to be written to CD" and then click file\copy to CD. NT Backup will also do this for you if you have it installed. I'm not sure where the setup is for that in NT Backup but it does have a wizard that should guide you through the steps. I don't have anything important on my computer that I can't reinstall so I never use the NT Backup. Perhaps someone who does can help you out if you can't use the wizard to figure it out. Good luck.
