A service begins when ive been on the net for 15-30min.
Im not positive but i believe some advertising begins.
after this a new window is shortly thereafter launched with
the ability to interrupt whatever im doing."EAPOL services
has been started" when i go to the services tab in
windows xp its not listed ? So my question is --what does
EAPOL serices do? Am i wrong in my assumption that it
starts ads? I cant seem to locate any articles about
this-thx

EAPOL relates to the Extensible Authentication Protocol... You
typically see then when connecting to an 802.1x-based network (mainly
corporate LANs) or other Intranet resources...

This shouldn't be the cause of your advertisements... One thing to
check, though, is to make sure you have the Windows "Messenger
Service" disable under Services (Control Panel=>Administrative Tools)
