I keep getting e-mails which have "thanks" or "support"
or "your order" in the subject line. Each message has an
attachment but I have not opened the attachments. These
come from real businesses but ones I have never had
contact with. I am also getting some responses saying
that my messages can't be sent because there is a virus,
but I have sent no such messages. I have downloaded the
MS fix and I also have my virus software up to date.
ANything else I can do except delete the messages??

They are being generated by the SoBig virus. Delete them using Shift+Delete
to get them off your computer. Update your AV signature and scan your
computer today. Do not put it off until the weekend, do it today!

The SoBig.F@mm virus is using "spoofed" addresses in the Sender heading.
Not sure what makes it do it, but the virus crawls the Internet gleaning
email addresses it finds on websites and substitutes those for its sender
information. I have had a user that has their email address on a section of
our website, and by 8 am this morning, she had received 132 bounce backs
because of virus filtering. Like Milly suggests, stay current on your AV
product, but the emails you receive back are harmless, watch for the ones
coming into your inbox with attachments however.
