When receiving e-mail, and in the send/receive screen, it starts out with
"receiving one of 54" messages. Everytime it gets to "receiving 47 of 54"
messages, it freezes, says there an error and then recycles all over again.
So far I have messages from 1 to 46 about 7 times received. Any suggestions
or help?

You need to visit the web portal of your mail provider and move or delete
the large or corrupt message in your inbox.
 
Logon to your servers Website and check your mail there. Remove the 47th
message as it is either too large or corrupt.
