E-mail to distribution list failed;"too many recipients." ?

I made my first distribution list and tried to use it (with an attached
file). E-mail failed; I got a message saying "too many recipients." There
were about 50 recipients.

How can I know if some, or none of the respondents got the message? Is there
a maximum number for a distribution list or e-mailing? Are there any
workarounds?

Outlook has no limitation on the number of emails being sent, you ISP
normally has a limit and you will need to ask them both questions.

Hi Bill,

I have done monthly mass mailings to several thousand recipients, there
should not be any limitations at all with only 50. As to see if your
recipients got their mail, just look in your sent items folder, if the mail
is there they got it. If not, they didnt.

First time I did it I sent to them all in one bulk, but that was not a too
great success, because I got some SQL Server error on too many TCP records,
but all recipients got their mail.

Now I do the mailing in steps, making sure that each has less then 1000
recipients. I do this by using the filters in BCM and sorting them by name. I
then get no errors, and the mailings are tracked correctly in BCM. (Although
I delete both mailings and Communication log afterwards as not to get too big
a database).

Good luck:)
