E-mail signature with word as editor

When I don't have word checked as my editor I am able to
edit the signature for my e-mails in outlook. When I do
check word as my editor it does not pick up the signature
and on-line help indicated I need to set the e-mail
signature up in word itself. When I got to word to do
this (options, general, e-mail options) I get a message
saying insufficient memory close other progrmmes. I have
plenty of memory so this is not the case. Am having this
problem on 2 out 6 PCs -- all set up identically. HELP!
