e-mail scanning

Thanks for your message rule ideas.

I should mention, even though it may be entirely
unrelated, that within 24 hours of my turning off e-mail
scanning in Norton my entire inbox disappeared from OE.
That has never happened before in my years of dealing
with e-mail. While an ISP tech told me the messages were
gone, I did find them in a location different from that
identified in OE's "store folder" info, readable only
barely through Notepad. Now I'm trying to see how to get
OE to recognize them. That tech advised me to put e-mail
scanning back on.

Your ISP tech is wrong about email scanning. It's redundant, provides no
additional protection, and is a known troublemaker in OE.
