e-mail provision for Vista?

I read in the OE newsgroup that OE is not provided in Vista. I've not yet
upgraded to Vista and wondering what is the provision for e-mail in Vista
(Home Premium)? During an upgrade what would happen to all my OE messages? I
have the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, but don't really like the
program. My needs are pretty simple and Outlook is way over-management and
overkill.

Windows Vista still has Outlook Express in all but name. It's now called
Windows Mail, but its basically the same program.
During an upgrade what would happen to all my OE messages? I have the
ability to use Microsoft Outlook, but don't really like the program. My

If you upgrade it should import your Outlook Express e-mails into Windows
Mail. Although I'd recommend exporting your Outlook Express e-mails first,
and then importing them if something goes wrong once Windows Vista is
installed.

If you have hotmail accounts, Windows Live Mail Desktop, Windows Mail
handles newsgroups and POP3 accounts fine and is included.

The new email program in Vista is called Windows Mail.

You should backup your Outlook Express e-mails first.

Thunderbird certainly works well in my Linux systems. I'll fire it up in
Vista and report back.
 
At risk of appearig to talk to myself, Thunderbird works perfectly on IMAP
and POP settings and with no need for tweaking.

Vista has Windows Mail which is the new OE. All of your OE data should be
transferred during the upgrade but I can't say for sure as I have never done
an upgrade.
