e mail postings

I understand that there is a limit on the number of e mail postings that can
be made in one broadcast.
Is this determined by the size of each e mail if so what is this size
Or is the accummilated size
Or is it simply the number of emails and is this then analyzed as being a
scam posting
Any information or source would be mosts appreciated
