I'm recovering from a system crash. E-mails were saved
to a CD-RW. How do I put them back so I can once again
access them from Outlook Express? I'm using Windows XP.
Anybody?

Goto this folder
C:\Documents and Settings\"Your Username"\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\"Identities"\Microsoft\Outlook Express
and copy all your Outlook Express ".DBX" files and open your outlook
exrpess.

Copy the folders back on to your hard drive, in a folder on your desktop
for ease of use.
Remove the "read only" attribute by right clicking on the folder,
choosing "properties" and uncheck the "read only" box.

Assuming you also included Folders.dbx in the backup, use file>import to
get your mail back into OE, pointing to the message store folder on your
desktop.

Do NOT try and copy the folders into the current OE as Rajiv says. This
will not work.

If you have not included Folders.dbx in your backup, then use the method
outlined here, moving one mail folder at a time.
