Michael

I'm having the same problem several others have posted
here. When I send or try to receive attachments I get
the following message: "OE removed access to the
following unsafe attachments in your mail..." On the
advice of my computer manufacturer's tech. support
person, I've disabled Norton. That produced no change.

Another wrinkle: Even though I get that message,
sometimes the file sent goes through, but sometimes it
doesn't.

This is a new computer, with a new ISP.

I can't see where anyone has answered these questions on
this newsgroup. Thanks in advance to anyone who can
help. - Michael

The message states that Outlook Express has removed the attachments. It would
make sense then that the settings for Outlook Express is where you should be
looking.

Try...

Tools - Options - Security Tab - Checkbox labeled "Do not allow attachments to
be saved or open that could potentially be a virus.

OE6 has a new security feature that will disallow attachments with certain
extensions (exe, mdb, lnk etc). To switch this off go to Tools/Options then
on the Security tab remove the tick from the "Do not allow attachments to be
saved or opened........" box.
