This may not be an Outlook problem, but I have tried other paths without
success.

I have sent E Mails with Excel attachments, and very often, I include myself
as a recipient. However, when I
try to open the attachment, I get an error message which reads:

'Adobe Reader could not open (Subject).xls because it is either not a
supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it
was sent as an E Mail attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).

Can you tell me how to open such attachments?

I suspect your file associations are messed up. Right-click on an Excel
file, choose "Open With", click on Excel and check the box at the bottom of
the dialog "Always open etc etc".

See if that helps
