E-MAIL ALERTS

RECENTLY WHEN I GET E-MAILS AFTER I HAVE READ THEM THE ALERT ON THE TOP BAR DOES NOT GO AND ALSO WHEN I LOG ON THE COMPUTOR BEFORE IM ON THE NET EVEN IT STILL SAYS I HAVE EMAILS WHEN I DONT. SOMTIMES THEY STAY THEIR FOR DAYS. WHATS CAUSING THIS?

I too have this problem. I tried to update to version
windows messenger 5.0 (I had read that this fixed file
transfer in Upnp) but lost my hotmail email. So I went
back to 4.7. From this point email count does not get
alerted until I sign in and the unread email messages on
the XP Welcome screen never change. It always says 1
unread.

Do you have any more information on when it will be fixed
or why it occurs?

This is happening to me too. I have to sign out and back
in again to get my email count updated. I use Windows
Messenger, and upgrading to MSN messenger 6.1 did not
help.
